Privacy
Written to be read. We collect what we need to clean your property and bill you for it, and nothing beyond that.
What we collect
Three categories, and nothing else:
- What you give us. Name, email, phone, service address, the details you enter to get a quote, and any notes you leave for the crew.
- What the work produces. Job records, before and after photos of the surfaces we cleaned, crew notes, invoices, and payment records.
- What the site records. Standard server logs, a session cookie once you sign in, and anonymous page-view counts. We do not run advertising trackers, do not build a profile of you, and do not sell data to anyone.
Why we hold it
To quote, schedule, perform and bill for the work you asked for. To send booking confirmations, reminders and invoices, which are part of the service rather than marketing. And, only if you opted in, to send seasonal reminders and promotions.
Page-view counting
We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics so we know which pages people actually use. It sets no cookies, does not follow you to other websites, and does not build a profile — which is why there is no consent banner on this site to click through.
It records the page path, a coarse location (country and region, never an address), and the type of device and browser. Before anything is sent we strip the identifiers out of the URL: a visit to your job page is recorded as /portal/jobs/[id], not the actual job number, and query strings are removed entirely so quote references and payment ids never leave this server. Calendar feed URLs are excluded outright, because the token in one of those is the credential for that feed.
Photos
Our crews photograph the surfaces they clean, before and after. Those go into your account so you can see the work without climbing anything. We only publish a photo on the website or social media with your explicit permission, asked for separately, and we never publish anything identifying your address.
Who else sees it
Only the processors that make the service work: our payment processor (Stripe, which handles card details directly — we never see or store a card number), our email provider, our SMS provider, our hosting, analytics and database providers, and the model provider that powers the site assistant. Each gets only what it needs for its function. Nobody buys this data from us because we do not sell it.
The site assistant
Messages you send the assistant are processed by Anthropic's API to generate a reply, and the conversation is stored so it can pick up where it left off. If you are signed in, the assistant is given a short summary of your service history so it can answer usefully. Do not put payment details or anything sensitive into it — it is a chat window on a website, not a secure channel.
Marketing consent
We record when and how you opted in, because that record is what makes a complaint answerable. Every marketing email has a working one-click unsubscribe. Texts only go to numbers with an SMS opt-in and every one carries the STOP instruction. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop booking confirmations, reminders or invoices.
How long we keep it
- Job and invoice records: seven years, as tax record-keeping requires.
- Photos: three years, unless you ask for them sooner.
- Chat conversations: twelve months.
- Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe, then the suppression record only.
Your rights
Email hello@spotlessaustin.com and we will act within 30 days. You can ask for a copy of everything we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deletion anonymises your personal details and revokes marketing consent; job and invoice rows tied to a payment are kept because tax law requires it, but they no longer identify you.
Texas residents have specific rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, including the right to know, to correct, to delete, and to opt out of any sale of personal data. We do not sell personal data. Requests go to the same address.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored as scrypt hashes with per-account salts and cannot be reversed. Session cookies are signed, httpOnly, and scoped to this site. Card details never touch our servers.
Children
This is a service for property owners. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this materially we will say so on this page and email anyone on the list. The date at the top is the version you are reading.
