Accessibility
Our target is WCAG 2.1 AA. Here is what that meant in practice, and what we know still falls short.
What we did
- Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring that is never suppressed.
- The before/after wipe is a real slider: arrow keys move it, Home and End jump to the ends, and it announces the percentage cleaned.
- Body text meets 4.5:1 contrast against its background, and interface text meets 3:1 at minimum. The yellow accent is only ever used behind dark text, never as text on white.
- Every form control has a real label — not a placeholder standing in for one — and errors say what is wrong and how to fix it.
- Charts carry a screen-reader table with the same numbers, so the data is never locked inside a picture.
prefers-reduced-motionis respected: every animation and transition is reduced to nothing for anyone who has asked for that.- Text reflows to 320px and scales to 200% without loss of content or horizontal scrolling.
What we know is imperfect
- The admin calendar board needs horizontal scrolling below about 900px. It is a six-column grid and we have not found a phone layout that does not lose information.
- The before/after wipe is a fundamentally visual comparison. The captions describe what each side shows, but the demonstration itself does not translate.
- We have not tested against every screen reader and browser combination. If something fails in yours, that is a bug and we want to hear about it.
If something does not work
Tell us and we will fix it, and in the meantime we will do the thing you were trying to do. Call (512) 555-0142 or email hello@spotlessaustin.com. You never have to use the website to book with us — a phone call gets you the same price, because the person on the phone is reading the same rate card.
Alternative ways to do everything
- Quotes and booking: (512) 555-0142, during business hours.
- Invoices: we can mail a paper copy on request.
- Reminders: by phone call instead of email or text, if you prefer.
